Frank Hits Fifty

AFC Liverpool captain Phil Stafford notched up his fiftieth appearance for the club against Daisy Hill on Tuesday.

Ever present so far this season, he becomes the seventh player in the club’s history to achieve this feat. Phil joined the club in the summer of 2009 from Bootle Reserves and made his competitive debut away to Rochdale Town at the beginning of last season. In his half century of appearances so far, Phil has scored once, in the 3-2 away win against Eccleshall last season.

Frank, as he’s otherwise known thanks to his manager likening him to a certain Gallagher, has become a firm favourite of Red’s fans as indicated by being immortalised in a Tommy Hurst banner.
