Club Founder Alun Parry Quits AFC Liverpool

The founder of AFC Liverpool, Alun Parry, has quit the club today citing personal abuse from some fans for his decision to move on.

The club was founded by Alun in February after he decided to create a club for Liverpool fans unable to afford Premiership matches.

AFC Liverpool is now one of the best supported non league teams in the wider Merseyside area, and is top of the Vodkat League Division One.

Alun said: “It’s a strange world when building something as magnificent as this from nothing ends up in the level of personalised abuse and hatred I have had directed at me lately.

“I would like to thank the steering group who have worked so hard with me to get us to where we currently are.

“I would also like to thank Derek Goulding, his staff and his team of players for creating such a fine footballing side on the pitch.

“I wish Derek and the lads well for the future, and am only sorry that I feel unable to share in what I believe will be a very successful season for the club.”
