End of Season Night Review

Sunday night saw AFC Liverpool in conjunction with the Hillsborough Justice Campaign host the End of Season Night.
A near capacity crowd crammed into the Lomax in Liverpool city centre to see not only the presentations but performances from Liverpool bands The Troubadours, Space and The In By Ones, who stepped in at short notice to replace Iris3.
Not only were fans treated to 3 great bands but also to an appearance by British and Commonwealth Heavyweight Champion, David Price, who kindly brought along his Championship belts.
The awards themselves were presented to the winners by the Voice of Anfield and Club Patron, George Sephton.
The winners were:
Supporters Player of the Year - Jack Sinnott
Players Player of the Year - Jack Sinnott
Managers Player of the Year - Jack Sinnott
Leading Goalscorer - Steven Jones
Clubman of the Year - Dave Inelli
As is typical of award nights, Jack was not present as he is on holiday so his awards were collected by various AFC players. However Jack did tweet ‘Would like to thank the fans, players and management of @AFCLiverpool for the awards last night, much appreciated #sorryicouldntbethere.’
There was also a special award for Worst Goalkeeping Performance of the Year which went to manager Paul Moore for his role, despite his best efforts, in the 4-3 victory away to Silsden. Despite this, at 51 years of age, Paul is now the oldest player to appear in the North West Counties League and he has a victory under his belt.
Everyone enjoyed a great night on Sunday and the Club would like to thank Frank at the Lomax for the venue, The In By Ones, Space, The Troubadours, future World Champion David Price, Sam Armstrong for designing the tickets/posters, Debi McMillan for the organisation and also to everyone who turned up and made it a special night.
