Friendly Announcement: Wed 16th July

AFC Liverpool’s first ever fixture will be a friendly match against St. Helens Town on Wednesday 16th July.

St. Helens Town helped AFC Liverpool in numerous ways when the club was getting established, and we are delighted to be able to play them in our first ever game.

St. Helens Town play in the top division of the Vodkat League so it will be a challenging fixture. They have also kindly agreed to play in their change colours of all blue in order to allow us to play our first game in all red.

The game will be played not at Knowsley Road, but at Edge Green Street, which is Ashton Town’s ground.

To get to the ground, follow the M6 to Junction 23, and take the A49 towards Ashton-in-Makerfield. At the T-junction turn right at the traffic lights on to the A58 towards Bolton. After approximately three quarters of a mile, turn right into Golborne Road. After 200 yards turn right into Edge Green Street, and the ground is at the bottom of street.

For those with satnavs, the postcode is WN4 8SL.

Those travelling by train will find that Bryn Station is the nearest station.

We will be looking at coach or double decker bus hire so let us know if there is demand. We hope to be taking as many supporters as possible for our players to really feel that they are playing for a great club followed by great fans.

When FC United played St Helens Town in 2006, over 1,700 fans were there. We want to make sure we at least match that for our first ever proper match.
