AFC Liverpool

League Campaign Begins At Home

AFC Liverpool will start their league campaign at their Valerie Park home ground on 9th August.

The first day of the Vodkat League fixtures were released today, and AFC Liverpool fans will be looking forward to a home match as our first ever league game.

AFC Liverpool’s first ever league opponents are Darwen, who hail from Lancashire. Darwen FC are a club with a fine heritage and were formed in 1870, twenty two years before Liverpool Football Club were established.

They are also believed to be the first ever club to install electric floodlights and employ professional footballers.

They finished 11th in the league last season and so promise a difficult test for our newly formed club. Typically also playing in an all red Liverpool style strip, they are expected to play in their all white away strip for the opening game.

For those who want to check out the opposition, their next friendly match is at home to Accrington Stanley on Tuesday 8th July.

Their website shows that one of their star players Patrick Lauber is a mad Red too so hopefully Paddy in particular is looking forward to that first game.
