Message from Manager Derek Goulding

Welcome back everyone as the dawn of a new season is on us again, there have been lots of ins and outs at the club over the close season and during pre-season and I am sure there will still be one or two more before things settle down after the early stages of the season. If anyone is unsure of who’s gone, where and why and who and where the new faces have come from give us a shout at the games and I’ll gladly answer any queries.
Whenever I speak to potential new signings the great selling point for me is the uniqueness of AFC.  The fans who followed us and supported us in our first season last year have created this and I sincerely hope the same atmosphere, banners and chanting will be present at all the games this season, (I’ve promised the new signings it would be!) I’m sure you wont let us down.
Pre-season preparations have gone well despite the interruption due to the wet weather, I think the new team has steadily improved over the games and hopefully we can produce another promising performance and positive result tomorrow against Runcorn Linnets.
Off the field, progress is still being made with Liverpool COuncil in an attempt to find us our own home, please be patient with everyone on this one and other off the field activities in the community.  These projects take years at professional clubs and the time scale for us semi-pro’s and volunteers can easily be trebled.  The progress as a club we’ve made so far has been fantastic and everyone should be encouraged and applauded for their efforts.
Back to an ‘on the field’ success, last week Phil Ojapah became AFC Liverpool’s first graduate to the football league, everyone at the club are delighted for Phil and very proud of what he has achieved.  Hopefully Phil will progress further with Oldham and make the most of a fantastic opportunity, from Buckley Hill to Boundary Park in 12 months-not bad!! And hopefully the first of many.  Thanks for your continued support, the players thrive on it, please keep it up.
See you all soon
