Runcorn Linnets Preview

AFC Liverpool welcome Runcorn Linnets to Valerie Park tomorrow evening for the third meeting of the season between the two sides.

Having faced each other in the FA Cup back in August, in which the Reds came from two goals down to bring about a replay which tomorrow night’s visitors won 3-1, the two teams meet in the league for the first time.

AFC Liverpool manager Paul Moore will be looking for a response from his team after their weekend defeat to Congleton Town. The Reds prop up the table, two points behind Atherton LR and seven behind both Squires Gate and St Helens Town after two defeats in their last two games.

They face a Linnets side that has drawn four and won one of their last seven league games, including a remarkable 4-4 draw against Silsden, a match in which they levelled on three separate occasions. They currently lie seventeenth in the table, though they have played the fewest amount of games of anyone in the league and if they won their games in hand would be in or around the top six.
