Steve Corris Joins One Hundred Club

Steve Corris made his one hundredth appearance for the club in the game against Congleton Town yesterday.

The reds’ captain is the only player to feature in all four season’s of AFC Liverpool’s short history, joining the Reds from West Cheshire League side Poulton Vics. He made his debut away to Rochdale Town in November 2008, coming on as a substitute. He went on to make a further eight appearances that season but became more of a fixture in the side during the following campaign.

Twenty three appearances brought about his first goal, a long range strike in a 5-1 win over Chadderton, and in total he’s found the back of the net seven times in his Reds’ career. At the start of this season he was given the captain’s armband.

Last season, he was second most present player in a Red shirt, a position he’s maintained this season behind the ever present Darren Torpey, AFC Liverpool’s only other centurion.

Congratulations to Steve on his achievement and here’s to many more appearances in a red shirt.
