The AFC Liverpool Scholarship

AFC Liverpool are proud to offer a scholarship, completely free of charge to 16-18 year olds, for an  NVQ Level 2  in Sport Recreation and Allied Occupations with Activity Leadership.

The AFC Liverpool Scholarship

AFC Liverpool has attempted to be a community football club from the beginning of its existence. We have maintained that wherever possible we have a responsibility to be inclusive to all of the Merseyside community.

Our latest venture is the provision of an education opportunity to local youngsters to gain an NVQ award which includes the following range of qualifications.

NVQ Level 2 course in Sport Recreation and Allied Occupations with Activity Leadership

  1. 1. NVQ Level 2 in Sports Recreation, Allied Occupations & Activity Leadership
  2. 2. Child Welfare
  3. 3. Emergency First Aid
  4. 4. Key Skills in Application of Number Level 1
  5. 5. Key Skills in Communication Level 1
  6. 6. CSLA - Community Sports Leader Award
  7. 7. 1st4Sport Technical Certificate

We believe that this is a great opportunity for 16 – 18 year old boys and girls who are not currently in full time education, training or employment to gain qualifications that will be beneficial to their future.

The course, which is free of charge, will be between 20 – 26 weeks. It has been developed by Luis Michael Training and will be delivered in partnership with AFC Liverpool and Huw Griffiths, who is a qualified assessor.

There will be class room guided learning hours of at least 3 hours per week with the rest of the week being spent on an active involvement of all aspects of running our football club that are relevant to support the studies.

Although this course is obviously based at a football club, it is open to all 16 – 18 year olds; there is no minimum requirement of qualifications or football skills.

All students will be funded by AFC Liverpool to take part in this education opportunity.

Enrolment will begin on: - 07/06/10, 10.00am – 1.00pm at Huyton Cricket Club, Huyton Lane, Merseyside, L36 7XE (opposite Huyton Asda).

Students should bring their National Insurance No. and proof of identity.

Further details can be obtained from Paul McCombs - 07539 445887.

Although enrolment will begin as above, this is a roll on roll off course; therefore students can join at anytime.
