The Wave - Stop Climate Chaos

On Saturday 5th December 2009, ahead of the crucial UN climate summit in Copenhagen, tens of thousands of people from all walks of life will march through the streets of London to demonstrate their support for a safe climate future for all.

Not everyone can get to London, so AFC Liverpool will have their own event that afternoon, at their top of the table clash against Stone Dominoes at Valerie Park.

Fans are asked to show their support by wearing blue for this day only!

The AFC Liverpool team will show their support by swapping their usual red kit, which will be replaced by blue shirts!

After the game, AFC Liverpool will be donating the shirts to Liverpool Unites, the charity set up to  ‘help communities on Merseyside improve the lives of underprivileged children and young people’ and was the foundation charity for the Reece Jones Memorial Fund.

This is also an opportunity for the club to show that it cares about what goes on in the world. We are ‘Green Ambassadors’ for Liverpool City Council’s ‘year of the environment’ – the only football club: -

‘Our Football Cub, Our City, Our Planet.’

Part of a global series of public actions, The Wave will call on world leaders to take urgent action to secure a fair international deal to stop global warming exceeding the danger threshold of 2 degrees C.

The Wave -  organised by the Stop Climate Chaos Coalition, will show mass support by people from all backgrounds for a better, low carbon future for the UK and the world.
