Wigan Robin Park v AFC Liverpool - Match Preview

AFC Liverpool are playing in the shadow of the DW Stadium when they take on Wigan Robin Park this coming Saturday.
The Robins were formed in 2005 and like the Reds, are now in their second season in the Vodkat League. They initially joined the Manchester Football League Division 1, before gaining promotion to the Manchester Premier League 2 years later. They spent only one season in this division, becoming league champions in the process, before moving up to the Vodkat League.
Last season they were one of the teams pressing for promotion and eventually finished fifth, one place behind AFC Liverpool. They also had the distinction of inflicting the Reds’ first defeat in competitive football, winning 2-1 at Valerie Park. Last season’s encounter at the Robin Park Arena finished all square, with Dave Eaton cancelling out a Sean White opener.
This season Wigan Robin Park have also started strongly, winning five of their opening nine games & are currently two points behind AFC Liverpool.
