Winsford United Preview

The Reds host Winsford United at Valerie Park this Wednesday evening.

Paul Moore’s men will be looking to put Saturday’s disappointing result behind them while bringing the level of performance into tomorrow evening’s fixture. Impressive displays in the last couple of weeks hasn’t brought the rewards they deserve but it surely can only be a matter of time before the Reds record their first league win of the season.

It was away to Winsford United that the Reds secured their first point of the season when a last minute Steve Corris penalty gave them a share of the points. Since that game, when they were looking to go top of the table,  tomorrow night’s visitors have had mixed fortunes that has seen them slip down to eighth. Their last three league games have seen Winsford only pick up one point with a 1-1 draw at home to Glossop North End followed by defeats to Silsden and, last Saturday, Congleton Town. They have however progressed in the cups; at the weekend they take on Squires Gate in the second round of the Carslberg FA Vase while last Tuesday they beat Congleton Town in the Cheshire Senior Cup.
