Karen Gill Becomes AFC Liverpool’s Latest Patron

AFC Liverpool are extremely proud and honoured to announce that Karen Gill, Chair of the Liverpool FC Supporters Committee and granddaughter of the Great Bill Shankly, has agreed to become our latest patron.

Karen, who now lives in Greece, is warmly welcomed by everyone at AFC Liverpool and we look forward to seeing her at certain games in the coming season and beyond.

It is a proud day for AFC Liverpool as we feel that as a fan owned club, her grandfather would have approved of what this club stands for, with the socialism he believed in right at the very heart of the club and with everyone working for each other.

Upon giving her patronage, Karen said, ‘I was greatly honoured when asked to be a patron of AFC Liverpool. I feel that this is a wonderful initiative at grassroots level to re-introduce ‘the beautiful game’ to the younger generation who have been alienated by the difficulties of the Premier League match going experience. As a member of the Shankly family, I will always support any initiative aimed at bringing joy to supporters and whose aim is to add meaning to the concept of the LFC Family’.
