LFC Action For Health Offer Training Opportunities

LFC’s Action For Health has teamed up with the Worker’s Educational Association to offer training courses in banner making, local history, sustainable living and film-making.

The course in banner making begins on 24th July for three hours each Tuesday for three weeks. Taking place at the Florence Institute in Mill Street, you will get to design and produce your very own banner of your favourite team just in time for the start of the new season. Banner Making Poster

The course in local history is a taster course that gives you a chance to find out about the history on your doorstep. Beginning Monday 23rd July, each session lasts three hours over three Monday afternoons and takes place at Anfield Breckside Community Council in Richmond Park. You’ll be able to research the landmarks in your community and city, get out and about in the local area, talk to those in the know and find out about the history of the buildings old and new. The course on sustainable living is a two day residential course taking place in Lancaster. Leaving Liverpool on Tuesday 24th July and returning on the 26th, the course offers you the chance to experience two days living in an environmentally sustainable community. Finally for the budding film makers out there, beginning on Thursday 19th July and lasting for five two hour sessions over five weeks, a course at Toxteth TV will gice you a flavour of working in front of and behind the camera. You’ll produce a health advert, beginning with the pitch and progressing on to the scriptwriting, directing, acting and editing with the chance that it may end up being shown on LFC TV. The courses are open to anyone in the Liverpool area and no previous experience is necessary for any of the courses.  Enrolment is free to anyone who is a eligible learner on income related benefits, otherwise a small fee will be payable, which is £13.95 for the film making and local history courses, £15.50 for the banner making course and £55 for the residential sustainable living course.
