AFC Liverpool Advertise For Manager

AFC Liverpool today (March 14th) released an advert seeking a manager for the new non league club.

The club, established primarily for passionate Liverpool fans priced out of Anfield by rising Premiership prices, hope to be playing in the Vodkat League from next season.

Club spokesperson Alun Parry said: "We are looking for an experienced footballing person to manage AFC Liverpool. We believe this will be a hugely interesting and high profile job for the successful candidate."

"The ideal candidate will be somebody with a wealth of footballing experience who will be committed to making AFC Liverpool a success on the pitch. Those with a knowledge of the non league scene are particularly welcomed.

"We'd obviously encourage former Liverpool FC players and staff to throw their hat into the ring too if they'd like an exciting managerial challenge with the support of fellow Reds!"

AFC Liverpool state that addressing affordability issues in football is their motivation - NOT Liverpool's current ownership debate - and want to make it clear the club is NOT a rebellion team - seeing themselves more like 'LFC's little brother.'

Parry said: "This is an idea whose time has come and it has nothing to do with who owns LFC. It is to do with passing on our heritage to the next generation of supporters. People talk about the 'Liverpool Way' but it can only be handed down by a matchgoing community not via TV."

AFC Liverpool are accepting CV submissions online via their website from interested candidates (

The deadline for applications is Monday March 31st.
